Let’s start the bedwetting conversation
Bedwetting is surprisingly common among older children but parents are often afraid to talk about it due to a fear of judgement. Research has shown that almost half of all parents with children from 5 to 7 years old who wet the bed at night, feel helpless.
We think this needs to change, especially with Christmas on the horizon!

With overnight stays to visit family, late nights and disruption to the usual routines, Christmas is a time where bedwetting can become more of a concern than usual for parents and children.
Our starter kits are on their way and in the meantime, let’s begin a discussion around the experience of bedwetting because of bedwetting. Remember, this is a safe space and we’re here to support and encourage one another. If you’ve found anything that works for you and your child, share your tips and info in the comment section to see if the same thing could help other parents this festive season and beyond.
Why does bedwetting occur? 🤔
Bedwetting can be a challenging for children and parents alike and the reasons behind it are likely to vary from child to child. One thing that always remains the same though is that bedwetting is no one’s fault
There are many reasons for bedwetting, from a child’s bladder capacity to hold wee produced overnight, to psychological triggers like stress or a major life event. There are a few potential underlying health matters that can lead your little one to wet the bed, e.g. constipation1.
How to manage bedwetting
There are several solutions that exist to help you to manage bedwetting and make you and your child more confident. Consider trying some of these practical tips:
- Get to know your child’s toilet habits – you may spot a pattern.
- Make sure your child gets plenty of liquid during the day and if possible consider limiting large amounts of fluids before bed.
- Remind your child to use the toilet 20 minutes before bed and again just before they lie down for sleep.
- Constipation can be an underlying cause of bedwetting1, so ensure your child eats plenty of fibre as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Be supportive: Reassure your child and help them on the path to working through it. Don’t punish or blame them for bedwetting, try to stay positive and encouraging.

My sons 5 he still has accidents throughout the night
These are a few tips I plan to try with him
Agreeing with your child on rewards for positive actions, such as a sticker for every time they use the toilet before bed. Maybe use a chart above there bed so they can be reminded on their achievements.
Bedwetting with older children is quite common and most children will naturally outgrow it when they are ready explaining this to your child can help them feel more confident.
Some children have small bladders or they don’t produce enough (vasopressin) a hormone that reduces urine production during sleep Bedwetting is nothing to be ashamed about no matter what age a child is.
try to give more fluid throughout the day and limit fluid intake during the evening.

Our pack arrived yesterday and they're brilliant. We potty trained our 3yr old over the summer and he's not always dry overnight so these just provide that extra security for him. He normally hates trying new things, but he was thrilled with the rocket design and there were no quarrels putting them on at bed time. He got super excited to try them. Thank you!

We got our trial packs yesterday. Unfortunately my daughter also started with chicken pox as well, so we haven't taken any pictures. This is an amazing thing though, my daughter is always really embarrassed in the mornings and about going to school after an accident. I try and tell her lots of children still wet the bed. I'm hoping by showing her these messages and the blogs, she might feel better about it.

We have received our pack. We love ninjamas in our house. My daughter is nearly 9 and still wets heavily most nights. We are currently under the docs to see if there is any underlying issues that are causing it or if it something that will just sort itself out.
My daughter hasn't ever really been affected by it but she is now a brownie and needs to take pull ups when she goes on camps, she is allowed to use the leaders toilet to change into them discreetly but she is definitely starting to feel that she is in a minority.
We have tried reward charts etc but I think a big part of the problem is that she is such a deep sleeper. She never wakes when she is wet, is anyone else's child the same?
We have started waking her before we go to bed, on advice from her doc, and this does seem to help.
Another thing to note is that she has suffered, quite badly, until recently with constipation. She now takes medication to help with that and the doc says she needs to restrain her bladder. I hope that you all love these ninjamas, they certainly make my daughter less conscious xx

Just received our pack and am super excited to try the product! We have a Sen lg and are still tackling bed wetting at age 7 x

Have just received these for my 7yr old boy who is embarrassed to wear night pants, and when he openly discussed this at school (in his words) they all laughed at him. He is off to a camp soon and it makes him super nervous, so hopefully this design makes it a little subtle.
We have spells of dry nights and then a few blips. He drinks lots in the day, stop big drinks from 5.30. He only drinks water or milk.
Can’t wait to read about others experiences!

We received ours today and have already spoken to a couple of friends and family who want to try some

Horray…our pack also arrived! My son is 7 and still often wets the bed. It’s really useful reading the blog as I’m going to start tracking his habits, and encouraging more water during the day. He tells me he drinks at school but I’m not convinced!
The design of the pants is fab and he’s excited to try them this evening. They will be perfect for sleepovers with his cousins over Christmas as they can be mistaken for “big boy” pants!

We received our pack today and our 4 year old son seemed pretty pleased with the snazzy pictures on them. He’s wearing his first pair tonight so let’s see how we get on!

I'm still waiting for my pack, can't wait to try them. I have a 4 year old who still wets every night, and sometimes has accidents during the day. She's not bothered about wearing nappies at the moment, but I'm sure it won't be long until she becomes self conscious....
Mumzie88 • 04/12/2023 - 19:27
Thank you received our ninjamas my daughter doesn’t like nappies but called these “cute” and slipped them straight on. Ready and excited for bed. No more clean ups or changing bed sheets in the middle of the night :)
